<para>The objective of the study was to identify the impact of nitrification inhibitors (DCD and DMPP) on nitrification rates, measured by nitrate formation and N2O production, under controlled temperature and moisture conditions in laboratory incubation experiments. The package contains data on soil mineral nitrogen and N2O levels measured over 70 days.</para>

<para>Soil was incubated at controlled moisture content (60 and 85% Water filled pore space) for 70 days. Soil was extracted on a regular basis for measurement of mineral N (ammonium and nitrate). Gas samples were collected periodically for N2O with a flux of N2O emission determined for each sample time using a dynamic flow system.</para>
