Methods Info
Step 1:
Description:
Inhibitor Incubation Studies
Soil was incubated at controlled moisture content (60 and 85% Water filled pore space) for 70 days. Soil was extracted on a regular basis for measurement of mineral N (ammonium and nitrate). Gas samples were collected periodically for N2O with a closure time of 24 hrs.
Instrument(s):
  • Gas Chromatograph - Agilent 7860 - ECD, TCD and
  • FID detectors
  • Skalar Segmented Flow Analyser (SAN++)
Sampling Area And Frequency:

Studies cover a time period of 10 days to 70 days depending upon the type of fertiliser applied.

Sampling Description:

Replicate soil samples were incubated and individual replicates of 3 were destructively sampled at each sampling time.
