This data package describes a field trial conducted to assess the influence of urea applied with and without urease inhibitors (NBPT) and nitrification inhibitor (DCD) on the production of an oat crop (cv. Nehuen) established in autumn 2012. The trial was designed to assess both the emission factor (EF) associated to the use of inorganis fertilizer and the effect of a mitigation option (N inhibitors). Experiment started in March 2012 and emissions are being estimated with the use of an automated greenhouse gas sampling unit. This information is not available for the country.
Please contact data owners/contacts listed for access to raw data.
The trial is being conducted on a new-seed oat crop site. GHG emissions data are recorded daily (8 cycle per day for N2O and CH4; minute determinations for CO2). Soil samples for NO3 and NH4 availability are taken fortnightly. Rainfall, soil moisture and temperature (soil and air) are recorded daily.
Soil type: Typic Hapludans (Osorno soil series): Texture: Loamy; bulk density (0-10cm): 0.64 g/cm3; drainage: good; depth: 60 to 120cm; previous crop: permanent pasture (10yrs). Olsen P (0-20cm): 16+/-2.1mg/kg; water pH:5.6+/-0.04; soil organic matter: 17+/-1.4%
