Soil mineral N (0-100 mm depth). Soil asmples were oven dried at 40oC for 48 hrs, milled and extracted using 2 M KCl with the supernatant analysed for ammonium-N (Berthelot colour reaction) and nitrate-N (cadmium reduction) using a flow injection autoanalyzer (Rayment and Higginson 1992)
